With temperatures ranging from the low 60s to high 70s, and forecasts predicting everything from clear skies to rainy evenings, staying updated is key. A band of heavy rain is sweeping across the Northeastern region, notably impacting Philadelphia and New York with substantial precipitation intensity. Scranton experiences steady showers, as rain drifts further north toward Albany. Mild showers are also extending across Pittsburgh, gradually moving eastward. Buffalo catches some light rain, but the conditions are clearing up as you move towards Portland and Boston. Washington remains clear as the rain skirts just to the north.
This afternoon in New York City, temperatures are holding in the low 60s, specifically 63 degrees at 4 PM. Expect rain with an easterly breeze at 13 mph, transitioning to light rain by 6 PM with winds easing to 11 mph. By 8 PM, showers continue with temperatures steady at 62 degrees and an east wind at 9 mph. Keep an umbrella handy as you head out.
Today’s high temperatures in the Northeast are showing a mix of warmth and cooler spots. In Pittsburgh, expect a pleasant high of 76 degrees, while Washington D.C. isn’t too far behind at 74. To the north, Philadelphia and New York are slightly cooler with highs of 67 and 65 degrees, respectively. Syracuse will feel even chillier at 69 degrees, contrasted by Scranton at a cooler 64. Boston rounds out the region with a high of just 63 degrees.
Tonight in the Northeast, we’re looking at cooler conditions with temperatures dipping into the upper 50s and low 60s. New York City will see a low of 62 degrees, while Philadelphia cools down to 62 as well. Boston is expected to experience a chillier night, with a low around 57 degrees. Albany will be slightly cooler at 61 degrees, and Scranton registers a low of 60. Expect temperatures to feel notably brisk in Portland, which should drop to 52 degrees.
High temperatures in the Northeast tomorrow will be notably warm, with readings well above average for mid-May. Pittsburgh leads the region with a high of 85 degrees, followed closely by Washington at 81. Philadelphia will see a pleasant 76 degrees, while New York reaches 70. Coastal areas like Boston and Portland will be cooler, with highs of 65 and 59 degrees respectively.
A weather system is shifting over the Northeast tomorrow, bringing scattered showers from Pittsburgh to Boston through the afternoon. Expect occasional heavy rain in the New York City and Albany areas, leading to possible localized flooding. Temperatures will generally hover in the mid to upper 60s, cooling slightly behind the front. Be prepared for sporadic thunderstorms with gusty winds, primarily in the evening hours. By late Wednesday, drier conditions should return as the system moves out to sea, providing a break in the precipitation.
