Snow is blanketing the areas from Buffalo through Syracuse heading eastward. This snowy activity is also making its way into central Pennsylvania including Scranton, leading to slick roads and reduced visibility for travelers heading through these areas. Light rain showers are heading up into New York City. Farther east in New England, Boston is seeing rain that extends into the coastal areas of Portland. This steady precipitation is adding more moisture to an already damp start to the day. Philadelphia is currently under a line of showers. Conditions remain largely dry in sections like Albany, while Washington has mostly cloudy skies offering a break from the rain further north.
“This afternoon in New York City, temperatures are expected to decrease from 49 degrees at 3 PM to 44 degrees by 7 PM. Winds will be gentle from the west-northwest, shifting from 8 to 7 miles per hour as the afternoon progresses.”
