On the Regional Radar, a substantial line of rain showers is sweeping across the Northeast, moving offshore from New York City up to Portland. Heavy rain persists along the coast, particularly near Boston, where conditions are wet and blustery. Lighter precipitation extends inland with Syracuse and Albany experiencing some snow showers. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh and Buffalo remain dry under clear skies, offering a break from the weather to enjoy outdoor activities.
For the afternoon in New York City, expect a mix of clouds with temperatures dipping from 52 degrees at 3 PM to 45 degrees by 7 PM. Winds will shift from north-northwest at 9 miles per hour, increasing to 12 miles per hour by 5 PM, then settling at 11 miles per hour in the evening. A mostly cloudy sky transitions to partly cloudy later today.
“Let’s take a look at today’s high temperatures across the Northeast. In Boston, you can expect a pleasant high of 60 degrees, while New York City reaches 56. Philadelphia warms up a bit more with a high of 57 degrees. Scranton is cooler at 52 degrees, and if you’re in Pittsburgh, you’re looking at a high of 45. Heading north, Syracuse is at a chilly 42 degrees, and Buffalo is even cooler with a high of only 39 degrees. In the Northeast, we’re facing a notable dip in temperatures as cold air pushes through the region. Albany will see a low of 34 degrees, while Syracuse is expected to drop to 43. Philadelphia will be chilly at 39, and Scranton will also hit 39. New York City is forecasted for a low of 43, and Boston is in for a brisk night at 33 degrees. Portland rounds out the region with a cooler low of 33 degrees. Be prepared for those temperatures to feel even colder with wind chills!
Tomorrow’s temperatures in the Northeast region will show a pleasant warming trend, with many areas experiencing above-average readings. In New York City, expect a high of 61 degrees, while Philadelphia will reach 64 degrees. Further north, Scranton is forecasted to hit 61 degrees, aligning with the expected mild conditions. Pittsburgh is warming up to a comfortable 69 degrees, a mild spike compared to recent days. Buffalo will see a high of 57 degrees, while Syracuse will be slightly warmer at 61 degrees. “A cold front sweeps through the Northeast tomorrow morning, bringing widespread rain and gusty winds from Boston to New York City. Watch for rainfall totals of up to an inch in some locations, which could lead to localized flooding. As the front moves offshore, skies will gradually clear by the afternoon, with cooler temps settling in for the remainder of the week. Highs will drop into the lower 50s by late Wednesday. Be mindful of slick roads during the morning commute, and keep an eye on any weather alerts.”
