A line of rain showers is sweeping across the region, affecting areas from Syracuse to Albany in New York state. The radar shows a mix of precipitation impacting northern areas, with rain being the primary weather condition over Buffalo and Scranton. The showers are moving eastward, bringing wet conditions as they approach the cities of Boston and Portland. Philadelphia and New York are enjoying clear skies. Washington remains quiet and dry as well.
Afternoon temperatures in New York City will reach up to 75 degrees with a mostly cloudy sky and a gentle west-northwest breeze at 11 miles per hour. By 6 PM, temperatures will slightly decrease to 73 degrees with conditions becoming partly cloudy. As we move into the evening, expect the temperature to drop further to 70 degrees around 8 PM while winds decrease slightly to 9 miles per hour.
In the Northeast today, we’re seeing a range of high temperatures. New York City is warming up with a high of 75 degrees, while Philadelphia matches that at 75 as well. Scranton is slightly cooler at 68 degrees, and further north, Albany is reaching 62. Meanwhile, Buffalo is on the chilly side at just 58 degrees. Syracuse shows a notable dip with a high of only 56 degrees.
Tonight in the Northeast, expect a noticeable drop in temperatures as cold air settles in. Buffalo will cool down to 41 degrees, while Syracuse will also see a low of 41. Scranton is forecasted to reach 41 degrees, with Philadelphia slightly milder at 50. New York City will dip to 52 degrees, and Boston is expected to see a low of 47 degrees.
Tomorrow New York City is expected to reach 74 degrees, while Philadelphia warms up to 75 degrees. Pittsburgh will see a high of 69 degrees, and Scranton will hit 64 degrees. Boston and Albany are slightly cooler with highs around 64 and 55 degrees, respectively.
A cold front moves into the Northeast tonight, bringing the chance of showers from New York City up to Boston. Expect rain to persist through the overnight hours, with the heaviest downpours in the early morning. Temperatures will remain cool, with highs in the mid-60s by afternoon. Watch for breezy conditions along the coast, especially in the Boston area.
