In the Northeast region, radar shows light rain showers moving eastward into coastal areas, impacting New Enland, including Boston. Albany and Syracuse remain clear at the moment, while New York City and the surrounding areas are experiencing calm conditions without precipitation. The heaviest rainfall is concentrated just offshore, which will dampen areas near Portland. Philadelphia and Washington D.C. continue to enjoy dry weather, as showers remain to the north.
For the afternoon in New York City, temperatures will hold steady at 68 degrees with a west wind at 9 miles per hour. Expect partly cloudy skies to transition to mostly cloudy by 8 PM. The gentle breeze and rising cloud cover will provide a cozy late afternoon vibe.
Today in Philadelphia, we’re looking at a high of 70 degrees, while New York City will reach 69. Further north, Boston will see a high of 66 degrees, and Albany is slightly cooler at 60. Syracuse will stay on the chilly side with a high of just 57 degrees, and Buffalo hovers around 60. Pittsburgh will be warm at 68 degrees, setting a contrast with the cooler upstate temperatures.
Tonight expect 47 degrees in Albany and a brisk 49 in Portland. New York City will see a low of 59, while Philadelphia registers 57. Pittsburgh will cool down to 51, and Scranton matches that with 51 degrees as well.
Tomorrow Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. will be warm, both hitting 76 degrees. New York City can expect a comfortable high of 75 degrees, while Albany will warm up to 73 degrees. Buffalo is forecasted for a milder 67 degrees, but still in a pleasant range.
Expect a rainy day in the Northeast tomorrow as scattered showers linger into the morning, especially across New York and Pennsylvania. Watch for a cold front approaching from the west, potentially sparking gusty winds and heavier downpours, particularly during the afternoon hours. By evening, most areas including Boston and Albany will clear out, setting the stage for dropping temperatures overnight. Be prepared for cooler conditions with a brisk northwest wind, making it feel like early spring again.
The UV index in New York City is going to reach 8 on Sunday, indicating a high sun exposure risk with a burn time of just 17 minutes. Come Monday, the index climbs to 9, making the sun very strong and reducing burn time to 15 minutes.
