The Northeast is enjoying calm and clear weather as indicated on the radar. No major precipitation is occurring across the region, from Buffalo to Boston. New York and Philadelphia are both seeing clear skies. Syracuse and Albany are also experiencing tranquil conditions as the system remains quiet. It’s a perfect day for outdoor activities stretches across the entire area from Pittsburgh to Portland.
Temperatures this afternoon in New York City will be steady at 61 degrees, with a northwest wind coming in at 7 to 6 miles per hour. It will remain sunny through 6 PM, providing a clear and bright afternoon. By 8 PM, temperatures will drop to 55 degrees, and skies will clear up further with a gentle northwest breeze at 3 miles per hour.
New York City is expected to reach 62 degrees, while further north in Albany, the high is a cooler 57 degrees. Moving west, Pittsburgh warms up nicely to 63 degrees, a tad warmer than in Scranton, which will see highs around 57 degrees. Philadelphia also aligns with Scranton at 62 degrees. Boston is experiencing slightly cooler conditions with a high of 58, while Portland will reach 53 degrees.
Boston will see a low of 47 degrees, while further inland, Albany will drop to 54 degrees. In New York City, temperatures are set to fall to 57 degrees. Scranton will see a cooler low of 58 degrees, and Pittsburgh, while still mild, will settle at 67 degrees.
Pittsburgh is set to reach a sizzling 82 degrees, while Philadelphia warms up to 73. New York City will see a pleasant high of 68 degrees, with Albany slightly cooler at 68 as well. Boston, however, will remain cooler, topping out at 66 degrees, and Portland will only see a high of 54.
Rain and thunderstorms sweep across the Northeast tomorrow. Starting in Pittsburgh and moving east, expect heavy downpours with strong thunderstorm activity potentially affecting Philadelphia and New York by midday. Albany and Syracuse see rain intensifying later in the afternoon. Temperatures will drop about 10 degrees behind the front. Be alert for potential flash flooding, especially in urban and low-lying areas.
The UV index in New York City will be high at 7 on both Thursday and Friday.
