In the Southwest region, we’re seeing weather changes from light drizzles to clear skies, impacting various cities differently. The 7-day outlook for Phoenix promises varying conditions from clear skies to potential thunderstorms. On the radar for the Southwest region, showers are moving eastward across Arizona, including Phoenix and Flagstaff, which might see a light drizzle. Ely is experiencing clear skies despite surrounding cloud cover and a few rain showers to the east. In California, San Francisco remains rain-free, while the sierras near Reno are witnessing some snowfall at higher elevations. Showers are dotting the landscape around Cedar City, with brief intermissions of clear skies. Las Vegas is enjoying dry conditions.
This evening in Phoenix, expect temperatures to gradually drop from 73 degrees at 9 PM to 69 degrees by 1 AM. The wind will gently shift from the west-northwest to the east-northeast, settling around 4 mph. Skies will be clear throughout the evening, providing a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere for any late-night activities.
Tonight in the Southwest, Ely dips to a chilly 37 degrees, one of the coldest spots in the region. Flagstaff is expecting a brisk low of 36 degrees, which marks a notable drop for the area. Coastal cities like Los Angeles have a cooler forecast with a high of 71 degrees. San Francisco will be significantly cooler at just 59 degrees, exhibiting a stark contrast to the warmer interior locations.
Expect persistent showers across Northern Arizona and New Mexico into Tuesday, bringing localized heavy rain and potential flooding. As a low-pressure system moves westward, enhanced instability could trigger isolated thunderstorms across southern Arizona and New Mexico through Wednesday. In western Texas, temperatures will steadily rise, providing warm and dry conditions through the midweek. However, areas in the higher elevations of Colorado may see a mix of snow and rain, making travel potentially hazardous.
