Meteorologist Amy Freeze here with your Southwest Forecast update. Expect clear skies in Phoenix tomorrow morning. Here’s the weather outside your front door.
The Southwest region…
The Southwest region is currently experiencing a dynamic weather pattern. Starting with the coastline, San Diego and Los Angeles are enjoying relatively mild conditions with no significant precipitation. However, moving inland, Bakersfield and Fresno are seeing some rain showers that could provide relief to the central California areas. Snow is picture-perfect over the Sierra Nevada, impacting areas around Reno with wintry conditions.
As we look toward Ely in Nevada, light snow is impacting the region, creating a wintery scene. Cedar City, Utah, is also experiencing some snow, adding to the seasonal atmosphere.
In Arizona, Flagstaff is bracing for potential snow showers, aligning with the usual cooler temperatures of the area.
Las Vegas remains comfortably dry amid a mix of clouds, avoiding the precipitation that’s touching other parts of the region. Salt Lake City is observing snow, contributing to the winter weather system passing through the Upper Great Basin.
Tomorrow morning in Phoenix, expect a partly cloudy start with temperatures at 50 degrees at 7 AM and light east-southeast winds around 4 mph. By 9 AM, conditions become partly cloudy, maintaining temperatures at 50 degrees with an east-southeast wind of 5 mph. Toward 11 AM, skies will clear to mostly sunny, and the temperature climbs to 57 degrees with southeast winds at 6 mph.
Here’s the regional high temperature update for the Southwest tomorrow, April 3, 2025:
In Southern California, Los Angeles will see a high of 63 degrees, while San Diego will reach 60 degrees. Inland, Bakersfield and Fresno will warm up to 66 degrees.
As we move east, Las Vegas is expecting a comfortable high of 62 degrees. Further south, Phoenix stands out with a warmer 70 degrees.
Notably, Ely will be one of the cooler spots at just 40 degrees. Overall, temperatures across the region are hovering near average, with a mix of mild weather patterns influencing these highs.
On the Southwest futurecast, anticipate a significant shift in weather conditions. From Tuesday into Wednesday, Northern California is expected to experience multiple rounds of valley rain, which could lead to slick roads and challenging driving conditions. Meanwhile, Southern California, specifically the San Bernardino Valley, will see another bout of showers with potential for heavy rain. This may result in hazardous conditions over mountain passes. Farther inland, the desert Southwest will enjoy a contrasting pattern of clear skies and sunshine, maintaining calm and dry conditions.
The UV index for Phoenix is projected to be high at 8 on both Wednesday and Thursday. Expect a burn time of approximately 17 minutes.
