On the Regional Radar for the Southwest, rain is advancing into northern Nevada with the most activity near Ely, providing some moisture relief to the area. Light showers are showing over Cedar City as well. Salt Lake City sees a break in precipitation, remaining clear for now. A broad area of precipitation is noted heading toward Reno, signaling more rain to come.
Afternoon temperatures in Phoenix are set to climb to around 102 degrees, with a steady southeast wind shifting southwest up to 7 miles per hour. Skies are mostly cloudy, providing some shade despite the heat. By 6 PM, expect the temperature to hold at 102 degrees under continued cloud cover. Moving into the evening, clouds begin to part slightly by 8 PM, with the temperature steady and winds becoming westerly.
In the Southwest, Las Vegas bakes at 99. Over in Flagstaff, it’s a cooler 74, offering a stark contrast to those desert highs. Bakersfield will reach a high of 95, and just down the coast, Los Angeles enjoys a pleasant 85 degrees. San Diego remains comfortable with a high of 84.
Tonight, Ely will dip down to a chilly 33 degrees. Expect lows of 45 in Flagstaff and 50 in Cedar City. Las Vegas will see a mild low at 65 degrees, while Los Angeles cools off to 52 degrees. San Diego will settle at 57, providing a slightly warmer respite from the cold front moving through the region.
Tomorrow in the Southwest, Las Vegas will see a high of 92 degrees. Farther west, Bakersfield will warm up to 79 degrees, with Los Angeles not far behind at 68 degrees. San Diego is set for a pleasant day with a high around 69 degrees.
