Meanwhile, nearby regions experience a variety of climates, with snow in Sierra Nevada and showers in California. As temperatures gradually fall during the night, get insights into what these shifts mean for your week ahead and how to make the most of Phoenix’s mostly sunny skies. Don’t forget, as the weekend nears, conditions may change, so keep an eye on updates! In the Southwest, a tapestry of weather unfolds across the radar. Showers are seen moving inland along the California coast, providing the valleys near Fresno and Bakersfield with some much-needed rain. While snow continues to fall in the Sierra Nevada, Redding is catching a brief rain reprieve. Farther east, clouds fill the sky over Reno with a chance of rain on the horizon. Cedar City experiences a break in precipitation, providing some dry moments. Flagstaff braces for a potential mix of rain and light snow, making for a chilly day. San Francisco, although not receiving direct rain, is under increasing cloud coverage, heralding more unstable conditions. As we move south, Los Angeles and San Diego enjoy more mild and dry days, with just a hint of drizzle.
Afternoon hours in Phoenix show temperatures steadily climbing from 79 degrees at 3 PM to 81 degrees by 5 PM, maintaining at 81 degrees through 7 PM. Winds are gently blowing from the west-southwest at 8 to 11 miles per hour.
Today’s regional high temperatures in the Southwest show a mix of conditions. In Phoenix, we’re looking at a warm high of 83 degrees, making it a perfect day to enjoy the outdoors. Meanwhile, Las Vegas will hit a high of 75 degrees as we see plenty of sunshine. Over in California, Bakersfield is warmer at 68 degrees, with Fresno close behind at 69. The coastal areas see milder temperatures, with San Francisco peaking at 59 degrees.
Tonight in the Southwest, we’ll see some significant chill as temperatures drop In Flagstaff, Arizona, temperatures are expected to plummet to 29 degrees. Cedar City will be slightly warmer at 31 degrees. Las Vegas is looking at a low of 54, while Los Angeles remains mild with 51 degrees. Expect temperatures in San Diego to settle around 53. Further north, Redding will cool down to 46 degrees, and San Francisco will hit 48 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southwest region tomorrow are expected to be quite warm. In Phoenix, the forecast shows a high of 82 degrees, well above average for this time of year. Las Vegas will see a high of 76 degrees, experiencing similar above-average warmth. Down in Los Angeles, temperatures are anticipated to reach a mild 65 degrees, while areas a bit farther inland like Bakersfield and Fresno each warm to 68 degrees. San Diego will enjoy cooler conditions with a high of 63 degrees, while San Francisco will stay a bit chillier at 59 degrees.

As the system progresses, expect more mild and drier conditions across Southern California into the weekend, with clear skies developing as the rain moves farther north.”
“Phoenix will experience a moderate UV index of 6 on Friday, with a burn time of about 23 minutes. So, keep that sunscreen handy! By Saturday, the UV index rises to a high of 8, increasing the risk of sunburn with a burn time of just 17 minutes.”
