On the Regional Radar for the Southwest, we’ve got quite the mix of weather conditions to look at today. Over in Southern California, Los Angeles and San Diego are seeing clear conditions, while clouds hover over the coastal areas providing a calm and mild setting. Moving eastward, rain showers are sweeping over Phoenix and Flagstaff, with Flagstaff experiencing some light snow showers due to the higher elevation chill.
Farther north, Reno is enjoying clear skies. To the west, light rain is observed around San Francisco and Fresno, with Bakersfield staying dry. Meanwhile, rain spreads across Salt Lake City, and Cedar City is dealing with spotty precipitation as well. Redding is also witnessing a break as the weather remains clear.
In Phoenix tomorrow morning, expect a partly cloudy start at 7 a.m. with temperatures around 62 degrees. By 9 a.m., clouds become more dominant, shifting to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping slightly to 61 degrees and a west wind at 5 miles per hour. As we move toward 11 a.m., the skies clear up again to partly cloudy conditions, with temperatures rising to 66 degrees, accompanied by a southwest breeze at 6 miles per hour.
Here’s the regional high temperature rundown for the Southwest tomorrow:
In Phoenix, expect a warm high of 82 degrees. Las Vegas will see a pleasant afternoon with temperatures reaching 76 degrees. Los Angeles is looking at a nice day with highs around 65 degrees, while San Diego sits slightly cooler at 63 degrees. Further inland, Fresno will warm up to 68 degrees, and Bakersfield matches that with a high of 68 degrees as well. San Francisco will be cooler, reaching just 59 degrees.
Overall, many areas are experiencing above-average temperatures for this time of year, largely due to a ridge of high pressure settling in over the region.
“For the Southwest, plan for a mix of conditions over the next day. Southern Nevada and parts of Arizona remain mostly sunny and warm with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s. However, attention turns to the Pacific Northwest as a cold front pushes rain into Northern California by tomorrow afternoon. The mountainous regions of the Sierra Nevada could see some snow as temperatures drop. Expect gusty winds along the coast, making travel tricky along Interstates 5 and 80. For Southern California, any significant wet weather holds off until later in the week—stay tuned for updates!”
