The Southwest is experiencing a mixed weather pattern on the regional radar this evening. Rain showers are currently affecting areas near Redding and gradually moving southward toward San Francisco. Meanwhile, snow is observed in the higher elevations to the east around the Ely area. Las Vegas and Phoenix maintain clear skies with dry conditions. Los Angeles and San Diego are seeing some cloud cover but remain free of precipitation.
In Phoenix this evening, temperatures will start at 80 degrees at 8 PM and gradually cool to 74 degrees by midnight. Expect clear skies throughout the evening with a light breeze from the west, decreasing from 8 miles per hour to 6 miles per hour.
Tonight in the Southwest, we’re expecting notably cool conditions. Flagstaff will drop to a chilly 31 degrees, while Ely will see an even colder low of 35. Las Vegas will remain mild at 60 degrees, but Cedar City will chill down to 40. Farther west, Fresno will experience a low of 56, and San Francisco will stay at a cooler 51. Expect a mild night in Los Angeles with a low of 55.
Tomorrow Las Vegas hits a balmy 83. Farther west, Bakersfield and Fresno both reach 84 degrees, indicating above-average temperatures for this time of year. Los Angeles will enjoy a pleasant high of 72 degrees, and San Diego cools down to 70. Cooler spots include San Francisco at 63 and Flagstaff at 54, balanced by a high of 67 in Salt Lake City.
Expect a clear and sunny pattern to dominate the desert Southwest through tomorrow, with minimal precipitation and pleasant temperatures. However, the Pacific coast, especially Northern California, braces for multiple rounds of rain starting overnight, continuing through tomorrow. Be cautious in Southern California, particularly the San Bernardino Valley, where heavy showers may lead to tricky driving conditions and slick roads over mountain passes. Temperatures will remain mild, but keep an eye on the frontal system moving in, bringing fleeting periods of gusty winds.
Expect a very high UV index of 9 in Phoenix on both Monday and Tuesday, with a burn time of just about 15 minutes in direct sunlight.
