On the Regional Radar, rain is pushing inland from the Pacific Ocean to Northern California, delivering showers from Redding down to San Francisco, which offers a refreshing reprieve from the dry conditions. Central California, around Fresno and Bakersfield, is also experiencing rain as it moves farther inland. As we look to the higher elevations, snow is making an appearance around Salt Lake City, Ely, and Cedar City, offering a wintry scene particularly in the mountain passes. Flagstaff is under a chill with the potential for some light snow showers. Most of Southern California, including Los Angeles and San Diego, remains dry with only light drizzle expected. Las Vegas enjoys clear skies and dry conditions as well.
For this evening in Phoenix, anticipate partly cloudy skies with temperatures moving from 71 degrees at 8 PM to 64 degrees by midnight. Winds come from the west at 16 miles per hour initially, easing to 9 miles per hour from the west-southwest as the night progresses. It’s a mostly clear night on the horizon as temperatures gradually cool.
Tonight in the Southwest, we’re tracking a significant drop in temperatures. Ely will see a frigid low of 21 degrees, while Flagstaff isn’t far behind with a brisk 22. Las Vegas will cool down to 43 degrees, and Phoenix will wrap up the day with a low of 49 degrees. Over in Cedar City, expect a chilly 25 degrees. Los Angeles will remain mild at 45 degrees.
