Storms are on the move across the Southwest with precipitation evident on the radar. Northern California is seeing showers, especially around Redding, with rain reaching as far south as San Francisco. Reno is getting soaked as a rain system moves through the area. Ely in Nevada is experiencing rain showers, creating a wet start to the day. Brighter skies are holding steady in Southern California, including the Los Angeles and San Diego areas, which remain dry at the moment.
In Phoenix, this afternoon promises abundant sunshine with temperatures rising to 91 degrees by 5 PM. Moderate winds from the southwest will increase slightly, reaching up to 14 miles per hour by 7 PM.
In the Southwest today, temperatures are sizzling! Phoenix is topping out at a warm 92 degrees, while Las Vegas is slightly cooler with a high of 83. Over in Bakersfield, expect a high of 71, making for a pleasant day. Meanwhile, San Diego is experiencing a mild afternoon at 61 degrees, contrasting sharply with the heat further inland. Flagstaff is at 63, providing a cooler option in this otherwise warm region.
Las Vegas is forecasted to reach a low of 51 degrees, while Flagstaff will be much colder at 32 degrees. Ely is facing a sharp drop to just 29 degrees, making it one of the coldest spots overnight. Bakersfield and Fresno will both see lows around 49 degrees, with San Francisco slightly warmer at 50 degrees. Expect overnight lows to hover around 52 degrees in Los Angeles and San Diego, making for a cool finish to the day.
