Tonight in the Southwest, we’re looking at some notably cold temperatures. Flagstaff will dip to a brisk 32 degrees, while Ely experiences a frigid low of just 30. Las Vegas will stay slightly warmer at 59 degrees, but still feels cool. In Southern California, Los Angeles is forecasted to reach 55 degrees and San Diego will see a low of 54. High temperatures in the Southwest region are expected to rise above average tomorrow. Phoenix will reach a warm 71 degrees, while Las Vegas enjoys a pleasant 66 degrees. In California, Bakersfield will see highs around 84 degrees, with San Francisco slightly cooler at 77 degrees. Further south, San Diego will have a comfortable high of 65 degrees, reflecting mild coastal conditions. These temperatures are influenced by a ridge of high pressure settling over the area, bringing unseasonably warm conditions.
Expect a dynamic weather day in the Southwest tomorrow. A low-pressure system is moving through, bringing a mix of rain and thunderstorms, particularly impacting Arizona and New Mexico. Watch for heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding in central Arizona, as well as isolated thunderstorms moving into southern Nevada by late afternoon. Temperatures will hover in the mid-70s to low 80s across the region, cooler than usual due to cloud cover and rain. Clearer skies and warm temperatures are expected to return by the weekend.
