In Flagstaff, the radar suggests possible rainfall, with cooler temperatures expected in higher elevations.
For this afternoon in Salt Lake City, expect sunny skies with temperatures starting at 90 degrees and peaking at 93 degrees by 6 PM. Winds will be coming from the west-northwest at around 9 to 10 miles per hour. By 8 PM, temperatures will slightly dip to 92 degrees with continued clear conditions!
In the Southwest today, we’re seeing some scorching temperatures. Las Vegas is hitting a blistering 110 degrees, while Phoenix will reach 108. Over in Bakersfield, the high will sit at 106, and Fresno is not far behind with a high of 106 as well. On the coastal side, San Diego remains relatively cooler with a high of 75. San Francisco is on the cooler end of the spectrum at just 65 degrees.
Tonight, low temperatures in the Southwest will dip to 53 degrees in San Francisco and 58 in Flagstaff. Bakersfield will see a mild low of 74, while Las Vegas drops to 84. Expect a cooler night in Los Angeles at 61 degrees and San Diego at 64. Phoenix remains warm at 88 degrees, but it’s a significant drop from recent highs.
Tomorrow in the Southwest, high temperatures are set to soar. Las Vegas will see a blazing 112 degrees, while Phoenix isn’t far behind at 110. Fresno will warm up to 104 and Bakersfield will hit 105. The coastal cities are relatively milder, with Los Angeles reaching 78 and San Diego at a comfortable 77.
A low-pressure system will bring a mix of rain and wind to parts of the Southwest by mid-afternoon tomorrow. Expect scattered showers, especially in southern California, with potential for heavy downpours overnight. Winds could reach up to 25 mph, creating gusty conditions, particularly along the coastline and over mountain passes. Temperatures will drop slightly, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. The storm system moves eastward by late Wednesday, allowing for gradually clearing skies and a return to warmer conditions by the weekend.
