The Southwest region is largely quiet on the radar with clear skies along the California coast, including from San Diego to San Francisco. Areas like Las Vegas and Reno also remain dry and clear. There’s snow activity in the northern part of Nevada, impacting areas such as Ely. Light snow showers are moving across parts of western Utah, notably around Salt Lake City. In Arizona, cities like Phoenix and Flagstaff are experiencing dry conditions with no precipitation in sight.
For this evening in Salt Lake City, expect temperatures gradually cooling from 65 degrees at 8 PM to 57 degrees by midnight. Winds will shift from north at 8 miles per hour to north-northwest at 7 miles per hour later in the evening. Cloud cover will transition from cloudy at 8 PM to partly cloudy by midnight.
Flagstaff will see a low of 35 degrees, while Ely drops to a brisk 36. Las Vegas remains milder at 62 degrees, but it’s still quite chilly compared to recent nights. In Southern California, Los Angeles will cool down to 52 degrees, while San Diego settles at 53. Prepare for a slightly cooler night in the Central Valley with Fresno at 50 and Bakersfield at 51.
High temperatures for the Southwest region are expected to be above average tomorrow. Phoenix will be notably warm, reaching 93 degrees, while Las Vegas enjoys a high of 84 degrees. Further west, Los Angeles will see milder temperatures at 61 degrees, and San Diego will experience a pleasant 63 degrees. In contrast, San Francisco will be cooler at 58 degrees.
A high-pressure system dominates the Southwest, maintaining clear skies and warm temperatures, especially across the desert areas. Expect highs in the upper 80s to low 90s in Arizona and New Mexico through tomorrow. However, keep an eye on Northern California and the Sierra Nevada region; a weak frontal boundary is set to bring isolated showers and possibly light snowfall at higher elevations. Moving south, coastal areas of Southern California should remain mostly dry but cooler with onshore breezes. In general, the region enjoys stable conditions with no significant weather disruptions anticipated.
