Redding is experiencing rain showers, providing some relief to the area. Reno is cloudy but remains dry. Ely in eastern Nevada is under clear skies. Farther south, cities such as Los Angeles and San Diego are enjoying sunny conditions without any precipitation.
Salt Lake City’s afternoon calls for warm and windy conditions with temperatures peaking around 87 degrees by 6 PM. Expect a steady breeze from the south-southwest at 25 miles per hour throughout the day.
Today’s regional high temperatures in the Southwest show a mix of warmth and balmy conditions. Phoenix is heating up with a high of 101 degrees, setting the stage for a hot day. Las Vegas follows closely behind at 93 degrees, providing plenty of sunshine for outdoor activities. Bakersfield will reach a comfortable 79 degrees, while San Diego feels a bit cooler at 69. Over in Flagstaff, a milder high of 73 degrees keeps things pleasant, offering a nice contrast to the hotter cities. San Francisco, despite being on the coast, will see a cool high of 60 degrees.
Tonight in the Southwest, expect significant drops in temperatures as cold air settles in. Las Vegas will see a low of 61 degrees, while Flagstaff experiences a chillier night at 34 degrees. Farther north, Ely plunges to a frigid 26 degrees, making it the coldest spot in the region. Cedar City will be around 37 degrees, and Los Angeles stays relatively mild with a low of 53. Phoenix will remain warmer at 64 degrees, but is still a drop from the recent highs.
High temperatures in the Southwest tomorrow are trending above average. Phoenix will see a sizzling high of 90 degrees, perfect for sun-seekers. Las Vegas isn’t far behind, with expected highs around 78 degrees, while Bakersfield warms up to a comfortable 73 degrees. Los Angeles will experience a mild afternoon at 68 degrees, and further north, San Francisco cools down to 64 degrees.
A weather system continues to impact Northern California with several rounds of valley rain and mountain snow through Tuesday. The San Francisco Bay Area will see gusty winds and possible power outages. Central California’s coast should brace for 1 to 2 inches of rain, potentially leading to localized flooding. Southern California remains drier but cloudier with cooler temperatures expected. Temperatures across the Southwest are warmer, reaching up to the mid-80s with clear conditions continuing.
The UV index in Salt Lake City on Monday is high at 8, with a burn time of approximately 17 minutes if exposed to direct sunlight. On Tuesday, the UV index decreases to 5, allowing for a burn time of about 27 minutes.
