The radar shows significant activity over the Southwest region. Rain showers are affecting areas from San Francisco to Los Angeles, providing a refreshing splash along the coast. The higher elevations in the Sierra Nevada range near Reno are seeing snow. Meanwhile, Las Vegas and Phoenix remain dry under clear skies. Ely is experiencing cloudy conditions.
In Salt Lake City, the afternoon will feature partly cloudy skies with temperatures holding steady at 82 degrees from 4 PM to 6 PM. Winds will shift from southwest at 13 miles per hour to northwest at 12 miles per hour by the evening. By 8 PM, expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures slightly dipping to 80 degrees and northwest winds continuing at 10 miles per hour.
In the Southwest today, temperatures are soaring, with Phoenix hitting a blistering 105 degrees. Las Vegas isn’t far behind, reaching 101 degrees, while Flagstaff remains cooler at 79 degrees. Bakersfield reports a high of 94, and Fresno sees a warm 93. In the coastal areas, Los Angeles is enjoying a mild 80, and San Diego is slightly cooler at 76 degrees.
In the Southwest overnight, Flagstaff will drop to a brisk 41 degrees, while Ely will see a low of 42. Las Vegas is milder at 71 degrees, but Bakersfield is pegged for 59. Look for lows of 58 in Los Angeles and 50 in San Francisco.

For tomorrow in the Southwest, expect a dry and sunny day across much of the region. However, watch out for wind gusts in the desert areas which could lead to elevated fire danger. Along the California coast, patchy morning fog will give way to partly cloudy skies by afternoon. Temperatures will be near seasonal averages, with highs in the 70s and 80s. No significant precipitation or storm systems are expected within the next 48 hours.
