The Southwestern regional radar reveals a mostly clear picture today with a few spots of interest. Light rain is approaching the northern coastal areas around Redding, providing a gentle refresh to the region. Meanwhile, Ely remains dry under clear skies, as does Las Vegas. Cedar City has clear conditions. Some light snow flurries are visible on the radar just north of Salt Lake City in the higher elevations of the Wasatch Front.
In Salt Lake City this evening, skies will remain mostly cloudy with temperatures dropping from 50 degrees at 9 PM to 47 degrees by 1 AM. Tonight, the Southwest will experience some notable low temperatures as the cooler air moves in. Flagstaff drops down to a chilly 33 degrees, while Ely will see lows around 37. A weather pattern change is anticipated for the Southwest tomorrow, starting with clear and sunny conditions over the desert areas. However, coastal regions like Southern California will experience a dose of showers intensifying by the evening, potentially leading to slick and hazardous driving conditions over mountain passes. Northern California is set to encounter rounds of valley rainfall through Wednesday, increasing the risk of localized flooding. In the higher elevations, overnight temperatures may drop enough to support a light dusting of snow. Plan accordingly for these varying conditions across the region.
