In the Southwest region, the radar shows light rain showers gracing the northern part of California around Redding, bringing some moisture relief to the area. In the Sierra Nevada, Reno is experiencing drizzly conditions though nothing substantial. As we move eastward, Ely, Nevada sees only some cloud cover,
Across southern Nevada, it’s relatively quiet around Las Vegas with clear skies prevailing. In Arizona, particularly around Flagstaff, there are no signs of precipitation, allowing for a clear, albeit chilly day. California’s southern coast, including Los Angeles and San Diego, remains dry as well, experiencing mild temperatures with partial cloud cover.
This evening in Phoenix, anticipate mostly sunny skies transitioning to clear conditions as the night progresses. At 9 PM, temperatures are expected to be around 98 degrees with winds from the west at 8 miles per hour. By 11 PM, temperatures will decrease to 92 degrees as winds shift to a west-northwest direction at 6 miles per hour. As we move to 1 AM, temperatures are at 85 degrees, with calm winds coming from the west-southwest at 4 miles per hour, making for a peaceful night under a clear sky.
Ely will see a chilly low of 34 degrees, while Reno is expected to be even colder at 39. Las Vegas will cool down to 63, but Flagstaff and Cedar City are on the lower end with lows of 41 degrees. In the heart of California, Fresno will have a mild low of 50 degrees, while San Francisco sits at 48. Expect Bakersfield to drop to 54 degrees and Los Angeles to stay at a comfortable 50.
High temperatures for tomorrow in the Southwest are shaping up to be quite warm, largely influenced by a broad high-pressure system parked over the region.
In Southern California, Los Angeles is set to reach a high of 72 degrees, while San Diego will also see similar numbers at 72 degrees. Further inland, Fresno is heating up to a notable 81 degrees, and Bakersfield will warm to 82 degrees.
As we move to Nevada, Las Vegas will be hot, hitting 91 degrees, while Ely reaches a more mild 72 degrees. Up north, Reno will see temperatures around 70 degrees.
In Arizona, Phoenix is on track to sizzle with an impressive high of 100 degrees, significantly above average for this time of year, while Flagstaff remains cooler at 73 degrees.
Expect a clear and sunny pattern to continue for the desert Southwest tomorrow, offering pleasant conditions. However, farther north, unsettled weather is on the horizon. From Thursday into Friday, Northern California will receive several rounds of valley rain. Southern California, including areas like the San Bernardino Valley, may experience heavy showers leading to tricky driving conditions and slick mountain passes. Watch for potential localized flooding in low-lying areas. Breeze along the coast, but temperatures remain mild and comfortable farther inland.
