On the Regional Radar, the Southwest region is experiencing varying weather conditions. Light rain showers are moving across parts of Northern California, particularly around Redding and Reno. Ely in Nevada is also experiencing light rain, while Salt Lake City remains mostly cloudy but dry. In the Sierra Nevada, some snowfall is occurring, bringing a touch of winter back to the higher elevations. Areas like Bakersfield and Fresno through to Las Vegas and San Diego are enjoying clear skies.
Expect a warm evening in Phoenix with temperatures starting at 92 degrees at 9 PM, gradually dipping to 85 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will shift slightly, coming from the west at 7 mph initially and then from the west-southwest at 8 mph later in the night.
Low temperatures across the Southwest tonight will dip significantly. Flagstaff is expected to reach a chilly 39 degrees, while Ely could see a low of just 32, marking a notable drop. Las Vegas will be cooler than many might expect at 64 degrees. The coast will be milder, with Los Angeles at 55 and San Diego a bit warmer at 57. Expect a brisk night in Reno, sitting at 41 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southwest for tomorrow indicate a significant warming trend. Phoenix is expected to soar to 94 degrees, well above average for this time of year. Las Vegas will follow closely with a high of 86 degrees, also trending above normal. In Southern California, Los Angeles will see a comfortable high of 64 degrees, while Fresno reaches 77.
Expect a mostly sunny day in the Southwest tomorrow, particularly over the desert areas, with a high-pressure system keeping skies clear and temperatures warm. However, the coastal regions of Southern California may see some cloud cover creeping in, accompanied by light to moderate showers, creating slick conditions on highways. Keep an eye out for localized flooding in some areas, primarily in low-lying regions near the coast. As the day progresses, temperatures will remain in the high 80s to low 90s inland, but cooler coastal breezes will keep temperatures in the mid-70s along the shore.
The UV index in Phoenix will soar to a very high level of 10 on Friday, indicating a burn time of just 12 minutes. Saturday also maintains a UV index of 10, keeping the sun’s rays strong with a similar burn time.

Monday: The clear weather returns with highs around 91 degrees and lows at 67 degrees. Tuesday: Enjoy a sunny day with temperatures climbing to 96 degrees and cooling to 70 at night. Wednesday: It gets hotter with clear skies, and temperatures soaring to 103 degrees, low of 74. Thursday: A warmer day with clear skies again, peaking at 105 degrees and a low of 75.
