The Southeast region is currently experiencing a dynamic weather pattern. A line of storms, marked with severe weather conditions, is making its way from Houston towards the coast of Louisiana, including New Orleans, bringing heavy rain and the potential for thunderstorms. As this storm system progresses eastward, areas around Jackson are experiencing consistent rainfall, which is moving northeast towards Memphis and Atlanta. Meanwhile, farther east in Georgia, clouds are thickening as these storms approach.
Scattered showers are currently sweeping across southeast Mississippi into western Alabama, bringing precipitation to cities like Montgomery. Areas like Savannah and Jacksonville are enjoying a pause from the rainfall, with dry conditions along the coastal regions.
In Miami, this afternoon’s forecast shows temperatures holding steady at 78 degrees with an east wind at 17 miles per hour. Expect mostly cloudy skies throughout and a slight drop to 76 degrees by early evening.
Let’s dive into today’s regional high temperatures for the Southeast.
In Shreveport, it’s a warm day with a high reaching 80 degrees. Over towards Houston, we’re seeing even warmer conditions, with temperatures hitting 82 degrees. Moving east, Jackson will enjoy a pleasant high of 74 degrees, while Montgomery is slightly warmer at 77.
Tampa is feeling quite toasty with a high of 86 degrees.
Now for the low temperatures across the Southeast tonight. Expect chilly conditions with a notable drop in temperatures. Memphis will see a low of 53 degrees, and Nashville is expected to cool down to 59. In Shreveport, temperatures will dip to 59 as well. Jackson is forecasted to stay a bit warmer at 63. Montgomery will have a low of 68, while Atlanta cools down to 63. Savannah is set for a low of 65, and Jacksonville will see 66. It’s a mild night for Tampa with a low of 69.
For tomorrow’s high temperatures across the Southeast, we’re looking at a warm day with readings climbing well above average for this time of year.
In the Gulf Coast area, New Orleans will reach a high of 82 degrees, while nearby in Jackson, temperatures will soar to 84 degrees. Farther west, Houston can expect a warm 82 degrees, and Shreveport is set to hit 83 degrees.
Moving eastward, Atlanta is projected to see a high of 72 degrees, which is on the cooler side but still comfortable. In Montgomery, temperatures will reach about 79 degrees. Jacksonville will be a bit warmer at 78 degrees, while Tampa enjoys a high of 84 degrees.
