On the Regional Radar, a line of severe storms is sweeping through the Southeast, stretching from eastern Texas through Shreveport and heading toward Memphis. These strong storms continue to move farther east, bringing heavy rain and the potential for thunderstorms. Make sure to pay attention to your severe weather alerts.
In Mississippi, Jackson is experiencing moderate rain, which is expected to move northeast towards Atlanta. Meanwhile, Montgomery and Alabama are seeing increasing cloud cover ahead of the approaching storm system.
The eastern portions of Georgia, particularly around Savannah, are currently dry but will see clouds building as the rain moves in. Farther south, Jacksonville is experiencing light showers, with conditions expected to clear later today.
For Atlanta tomorrow morning, expect temperatures starting at 68 degrees by 7 AM, rising to 72 degrees at 9 AM, and reaching 77 degrees by 11 AM. Winds will be coming from the south, beginning at 5 miles per hour and increasing to 11 miles per hour.
In the Southeast tomorrow, expect a warm day with several areas experiencing above-average temperatures. In Jackson, Mississippi, the high will reach 88 degrees, while New Orleans sees a warm 85 degrees. Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama, are looking at highs of 89 degrees and 86 degrees respectively, which is significantly above average for this time of year.
Moving over to Atlanta, Georgia, the temperature will peak at 81 degrees, while Nashville, Tennessee, will enjoy a high of 74 degrees. Farther south, Jacksonville, Florida, is set to reach 88 degrees, and the highs in Tampa could soar to 93 degrees, pushing into record-breaking territory.
Expect unsettled weather across the Southeast over the next 24 to 48 hours. A line of thunderstorms will roll into the region early tomorrow morning, impacting areas from Shreveport to Memphis and farther east towards Atlanta and Charlotte by midday. Some thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and gusty winds. Shreveport may experience moderate rain overnight, tapering by dawn. The Storm Prediction Center has parts of the region under a severe weather outlook, so stay weather aware.
Areas from Montgomery to Savannah are on track for scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout Wednesday, with Jacksonville seeing isolated storms. With the potential for more than an inch of rainfall, there’s a risk of localized flooding, especially in low-lying or urban areas. Following the storms, a cooldown is expected, with temperatures dropping around 5 to 10 degrees, bringing more mild conditions for the weekend.
