We’re seeing a range of conditions from sunny Miami evenings to potential storms moving across the region. On this Regional Radar for the Southeast, attention is drawn to the onset of a weather system advancing across portions of the area. From Shreveport moving eastward, light to moderate rain is stretching all the way through Jackson and continues its journey toward Montgomery and Atlanta. Folks in Shreveport and Jackson should brace for intermittent showers this morning. Along the Coastal Plains, Savannah and Charleston are noticing increasing cloud cover with rain expected to arrive soon. There are isolated showers near Jacksonville, adding a bit of moisture to northern Florida. As for Memphis, it remains mostly clear with potential cloudiness developing later. The Gulf Coast, from New Orleans to Houston, anticipates continued dryness with only some pockets of clouds.
For this evening in Miami, temperatures remain steady at 78 degrees from 8 PM through midnight. Expect a partly cloudy sky throughout this period, providing a calm backdrop to the evening.
Tonight, the Southeast braces for a drop in temperatures as cooler air moves in. Expect a chilly 33 degrees in Memphis and a low of 36 in Nashville. Shreveport is set to cool down to 39, while Jackson will see 40 degrees. Atlanta will drop to 42, and Montgomery will follow closely at 44. In contrast, it remains more mild in Tampa with a low of 59.
Tomorrow, the Southeast is gearing up for a warm and sunny day with many locations reaching above-average highs. Key cities are expecting quite a warmup. In Jackson, the high will soar to 88 degrees, aligning with the region’s warmth. To the southwest, New Orleans will see a pleasant 85 degrees. Montgomery is expected to reach 89 degrees, making it one of the hottest spots. Atlanta will enjoy a high of 86 degrees, while further down the coast, Jacksonville is forecasted to hit 88 degrees. Tampa is in for a steamy 93 degrees, indicating a significant shift toward summer-like temperatures. In contrast, farther north in Memphis, highs will be more moderate at around 70 degrees.
A cold front is progressing eastward across the Southeast, bringing a series of showers and thunderstorms from Texas to Mississippi. The focus for severe weather includes areas from Shreveport to Montgomery, with the potential for heavy rain and gusty winds. By Wednesday evening, expect this system to reach eastern cities like Savannah and Jacksonville, with more mild showers. Attention should be paid to potential severe thunderstorm warnings, as these could bring localized flooding. Due to frontal passage, cooler and drier air will follow by Thursday, offering a break from the stormy conditions.
