A tranquil picture emerges across the Southeast on the Regional Radar. Clouds are brushing against the coast of the Carolinas, with light rain making its way inland near Charleston. Farther down, along the Florida Peninsula, showers are clipping Jacksonville but the rain is easing as it moves eastward into the Atlantic. Cloud cover is prominently shifting over Georgia, foretelling rain showers advancing into Atlanta. Mild weather prevails in places like Savannah, as clouds linger, hinting at potential precipitation. The Gulf Coast, including New Orleans and Houston, maintains dry conditions under overcast skies. As for Memphis, conditions remain clear.
For this evening in Atlanta, skies will remain clear with temperatures decreasing from 55 degrees at 8 PM to 46 degrees by midnight. Winds will be gentle, coming from the north-northwest at 6 miles per hour at 8 PM, tapering to 4 miles per hour towards midnight.
In Memphis, expect a chilly low of 33 degrees, while Nashville will hit around 35. Jackson is forecasted to drop to 37. Heading to Atlanta, temperatures will plummet to 30 degrees, and Montgomery is looking at a low of 31. Savannah will experience a mild dip to 55 degrees. Tomorrow’s high temperatures across the Southeast are showing a mix of warm and seasonal conditions. In Shreveport, Louisiana, expect a high of 90 degrees, a significant above-average reading for this time of year. Houston will also enjoy a warm day at 88 degrees. Further east, Jackson, Mississippi, reaches 84 degrees, while New Orleans sees a high of 81. Heading toward the Atlantic coast, Atlanta is set for a high of 77 degrees, with Montgomery, Alabama, not far behind at 73 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are set to make their presence known across parts of the Southeast as we move into tomorrow. The forecast indicates active weather with a line of storms advancing from Houston to Shreveport, Montgomery, and stretching into Jacksonville by the end of the day. These storms may bring heavy rainfall and gusty winds, posing a risk of localized flooding—particularly in urban areas. Keep an eye on Jackson and Atlanta, where conditions are conducive to stronger storms, potentially triggering severe weather watches. Temperatures will remain generally mild, but the passage of a cold front will shift the dynamics, especially as it progresses towards the East Coast. Be prepared for the possibility of brief clearing intervals only to see subsequent rounds of rainfall.
