Across the Southeast, the radar shows a mix of weather conditions. A strong line of rain showers is pushing through the Florida Panhandle and skirting across the southern parts of Georgia, bringing wet conditions to cities like Jacksonville. As we move farther north, Atlanta is experiencing clear skies, while Montgomery is seeing some increased cloud cover but remains dry for now. In coastal regions, from Savannah to Charleston, it’s a clear and comfortable day, offering a breather from rain. The area around Miami sees just a few isolated showers that should move out quickly. Farther west, New Orleans and Houston are both enjoying a clear day without any rain, making it perfect for outdoor activities. As you travel north toward the Mississippi Delta, Jackson is under dry skies, similar to Memphis, which is also clear. Shreveport is calm as well, not impacted by any significant weather today, and conditions are stable across the region, reflecting a poise to enjoy some time outdoors in many areas of the Southeast.
Tomorrow morning in Atlanta, start your day with clear and sunny skies. Temperatures will rise from 41 degrees at 8 AM to 52 degrees by 10 AM. Enjoy a calm start with a light east-southeast wind at 4 miles per hour. As late morning approaches, a southerly breeze will set in, bringing continued sunshine.
Tomorrow’s high temperatures across the Southeast are showing a mix of warm and seasonal conditions. In Shreveport, Louisiana, expect a high of 90 degrees, a significant above-average reading for this time of year. Houston will also enjoy a warm day at 88 degrees. Further east, Jackson, Mississippi, reaches 84 degrees, while New Orleans sees a high of 81. Heading toward the Atlantic coast, Atlanta is set for a high of 77 degrees, with Montgomery, Alabama, not far behind at 73 degrees. Jacksonville will experience slightly warmer temperatures at 79 degrees, while Tampa measures in at 81. In contrast, Charlotte, North Carolina, will remain cooler with a high of just 68 degrees.
Expect a dynamic weather pattern for the Southeast as a cold front sweeps through the region by late Saturday. This front will bring a push of strong thunderstorms, with the Storm Prediction Center highlighting areas of concern for severe weather stretching from Houston to Jacksonville. Strong winds and possible hail could impact New Orleans, Montgomery, and Atlanta, arriving during the overnight hours. Look for more mild conditions behind the front as it clears the southeast coast on Sunday. Rainfall is expected to exceed two inches in some locations, with a risk of flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Keep weather alerts handy as these conditions develop over the next 24 to 48 hours.
The UV index in Atlanta this weekend is pegged high at 8 on both Saturday and Sunday, with a burn time of just 17 minutes in direct sunlight. If you’re planning to enjoy some outdoor activities, make sure to apply sunscreen generously, don a wide-brimmed hat, and seek shade during the peak hours from late morning to afternoon. Stay sun safe!
