Jacksonville is currently under heavy rainfall, with conditions expected to push towards Savannah. Southeast Georgia faces scattered showers, while less impactful weather graces Miami, where a few isolated pockets of rain linger offshore. In Alabama, Montgomery remains relatively calm, and areas stretching towards the Mississippi delta, including Jackson, are experiencing clear skies for now. Places like Houston and New Orleans are seeing isolated light rain showers as the system skirts their southern edges.
Atlanta’s afternoon will feature partly cloudy skies with temperatures hovering around 69 degrees. Winds from the west will be steady at 11 to 12 miles per hour. By 8 PM, expect a slight drop to 65 degrees with wind shifting to west-northwest at 8 miles per hour.
In New Orleans, expect a high of 79 degrees, while Jackson will see a slightly cooler 74 degrees. Moving over to Alabama, Montgomery hits 77 degrees and Atlanta is a touch cooler at 70. Down in Florida, Tampa warms up nicely to 84 degrees, with both Jacksonville and Savannah reaching 83 degrees. The contrasting cooler weather persists in Memphis at 67 degrees. It’s shaping up to be a day filled with sunshine and warmth for much of the region.
Tonight, Memphis dips to a chilly 47 degrees, while Nashville cools down to 50. Expect a low of 53 in Montgomery and 58 in Jackson. Atlanta is projected to hit 53 degrees, with Savannah slightly warmer at 61. Meanwhile, coastal cities like Jacksonville will see a low of 63, keeping things more comfortable for the night.
High temperatures in the Southeast tomorrow will be notably warm, with several cities experiencing readings above average. Atlanta is expected to reach 71 degrees, while Montgomery will warm up to 79. Jacksonville and Tampa are leading the charge with impressive highs of 88 degrees, making it feel quite summer-like. New Orleans isn’t far behind, hitting 81 degrees, while Memphis lags slightly at 73 degrees.
A cold front is set to sweep through the Southeast tomorrow, bringing with it a round of moderate to heavy rainfall from Jackson to Savannah. Expect thunderstorms to ignite across New Orleans and Montgomery as this front makes its way eastward. Severe storm potential exists, particularly with strong, gusty winds and localized heavy downpours that might lead to flash flooding. Cooler air filters in post-front, providing a respite from recent warmth across Atlanta and Charlotte by late Wednesday. Stay alert to changing conditions and any severe weather warnings that may be issued.
