Welcome to our comprehensive weather overview with Amy Freeze. Tonight, Miami enjoys clear skies and moderate breezes, perfect for a nighttime stroll. This weekend, expect varying temperatures across the Southeast, with a special note on Miami’s extreme UV index. Stay prepared and protected as weather conditions continue to evolve.
A powerful line of severe storms is sweeping through the northern areas of the Southeast. Memphis is under the gun as these storms push eastward. Rain is also extending down towards Jackson, with spotty showers approaching New Orleans. While most of Georgia and the Carolinas are currently enjoying clear skies, be prepared for changes as this system advances. Miami and Tampa, on the other hand, remain perfectly clear.
Temperatures in Miami this evening will hover around 82 degrees at 9 PM, gradually dipping to 81 degrees by 1 AM. Throughout the evening, expect mostly cloudy skies transitioning to partly cloudy conditions later. Winds will be light from the east, maintaining around 6 to 7 mph. It’s a calm evening, ideal for late-night strolls or outdoor relaxation.
Tonight in the Southeast, expect milder low temperatures with Memphis dropping to 64 degrees. Nashville will see a low of 60, while Atlanta remains a bit warmer at 66. Montgomery registers a comfortable 70 degrees, and in Jackson, the low will be around 69. Over in New Orleans, temperatures will only dip to 77 degrees, making for a warm night across the region.
Tomorrow Atlanta will see a high of 81 degrees, while temperatures in Charlotte reach up to 76. Jacksonville will be warm at 91 degrees, matched by Tampa, which also hits 91. New Orleans and Jackson each forecast a high of 89 degrees.
A cold front is advancing across the Southeast, bringing scattered thunderstorms from Shreveport and Jackson to Montgomery and Atlanta through tomorrow. Memphis and Charlotte could see increasing clouds with rain likely by afternoon. Be vigilant for brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and isolated severe storms, particularly near Jackson and New Orleans. Rainfall could exceed an inch in some areas over the next 24 hours. Post-front, temperatures are set to drop slightly with brighter skies.
The UV index in Miami both days this weekend will soar to an extreme level of 11, indicating a very high risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure. Without protection, sunburns can occur in about 11 minutes, so ensure you’re covered up and applying sunscreen regularly.
