A line of showers is approaching New Orleans, progressing eastward along the Gulf Coast toward Mobile with scattered rain. Meanwhile, Miami is experiencing rain showers moving inland from the southeast, with additional precipitation forming over Tampa and Jacksonville, extending northwards. The Carolinas remain mostly dry right now, but increasing cloud cover could hint at rain developing soon. Over in Mississippi, Jackson is seeing scattered showers pushing northeast, setting the stage for potential drizzle later in the day.
This evening in Atlanta will be partly cloudy at 9 PM with temperatures around 86 degrees. Winds will be from the northwest at 6 miles per hour. Rainfall amounts could reach up to an inch in some areas, raising the risk of localized flooding. Temperatures will remain warm, with highs in the mid-80s. Cooler and drier air will follow behind the front, bringing relief by Wednesday, especially for cities like Atlanta and Charlotte.
The UV index in Atlanta will be very high today and tomorrow, reaching 11, which means sun exposure can lead to skin damage in just 11 minutes. Make sure to apply high SPF sunscreen, wear hats and sunglasses, and seek shade when possible. Stay protected, and enjoy your day safely!
