The Southeast is experiencing a mix of weather conditions on this regional radar. For those in the Florida peninsula, scattered showers are visible moving offshore near Miami, gradually affecting the surrounding coastal areas with light rain. Meanwhile, a stretch of clearer skies prevails across Jacksonville, offering a mild reprieve from the wet weather. As we look up toward Atlanta and Charlotte, the radar is showing a dry and calm scenario, allowing residents to enjoy a break from precipitation. The areas around New Orleans and Houston sit comfortably out of the storm paths, basking in relatively mild weather for the day. Keep an eye on increasing cloud cover in northern sections like Memphis as conditions might shift later.
For tomorrow morning in Atlanta, expect a sunny start with temperatures rising from 46 degrees at 7 a.m. to 64 degrees by 11 a.m. Winds will be from the northwest, beginning at 4 miles per hour and increasing to 9 miles per hour as the morning progresses. Keep a light jacket handy for the early hours, but enjoy the warming trend as sunshine prevails.
High temperatures for the Southeast tomorrow present a warm and sunny outlook. Atlanta is set for a mild day at 75 degrees, and Jacksonville, Florida, will hit a warm 82 degrees. In Jackson, expect a high of 79 degrees, while Memphis reaches 76 degrees. Nashville will see a comfortable 70 degrees. In Montgomery temperatures will rise to 80 degrees. Over in New Orleans, it’s looking pleasantly warm with a high of 82 degrees. Farther south, Tampa is on track for 86 degrees, setting up a notably above-average day for this time of year.
Expect a dynamic weather shift across the Southeast as a cold front makes its approach. A line of strong thunderstorms is anticipated from Houston to New Orleans Tuesday night, with heavy rainfall and gusty winds posing a risk. As the system moves eastward, storms are likely to impact Mississippi through to Georgia on Wednesday, aligning with the morning commute. The Storm Prediction Center has included parts of these regions in their Severe Weather Outlook, indicating potential for isolated severe storms from Montgomery to Atlanta. Rainfall could exceed an inch in some areas, raising concerns about localized flooding. Cooler, dry conditions are forecast in Memphis and Charlotte as the week progresses, providing relief from the recent stormy weather.
The UV index in Atlanta will be high on both Tuesday and Wednesday, reaching a level of 7. This means sun protection is crucial, as the burn time can occur in about 20 minutes with direct exposure.
For the 7-day forecast in Atlanta:
Wednesday: Expect a clear day with a high of 74 degrees and a low of 43.
Thursday: Another clear day, reaching a high of 77 degrees with a low of 50.
