Across the Southern Plains, the regional radar is relatively calm. There are snow showers occurring in the higher elevations along the southern Colorado border, where winds could gust up to 75 miles per hour in the mountain passes. Meanwhile, in the Oklahoma Panhandle, a few rain showers are making their way through. In the lower Mississippi Delta, rain is developing as a storm system begins to form. Farther east, rain is affecting areas from Jackson toward the northeast, moving towards Atlanta, while the rest of the region enjoys clear skies, particularly around cities like Dallas and San Antonio.
For this evening in Austin, expect clear skies with temperatures starting at 64 degrees by 8 PM, decreasing to 57 degrees at 10 PM, and then 52 degrees by midnight. Winds are calm initially, shifting to a southeast wind at 4 miles per hour, creating a tranquil evening atmosphere.
As we head into tonight, the Southern Plains are bracing for a significant drop in temperatures. Oklahoma City will cool down to 36 degrees, while Dallas will also see a chilly night at 44 degrees. Little Rock is forecasted to plunge to 44 degrees, and in Midland, expect a low of 47 degrees. Heading down to Texas, San Antonio will not be as cold with a low of 56 degrees, while further south in Corpus Christi, it remains notably warmer at 62 degrees.
