A cluster of showers is located just off the coast near New Orleans, moving eastward and possibly affecting coastal Louisiana later. Oklahoma City and Dallas are experiencing calm and dry conditions under mostly clear skies. Farther north, clouds and light showers are present near Kansas City.
In Austin, this afternoon’s temperatures rise to a hot 96 degrees by 6 PM, under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be coming from the southeast at 6 miles per hour, providing a slight breeze. The weather remains sunny as the day progresses, cooling slightly to 94 degrees by 8 PM.
Today El Paso leads the regional high temperatures with a sizzling high of 100 degrees, while Midland closely follows at 100 as well. In San Antonio, expect a warm day with a high of 99 degrees. Dallas will experience a high of 89 degrees, slightly cooler than the surrounding areas. Over in Jackson, temperatures reach around 90, bringing a notable warmth to the region. New Orleans is a bit more comfortable with a high of 84 degrees.
Tonight expect a low of 68 degrees in Oklahoma City and slightly warmer at 74 in Dallas. Midland will drop to 76 degrees, while El Paso sits at 69. San Antonio will see a low of 77, and New Orleans will rest at 75 degrees. Little Rock is expected to cool down to 63 degrees.
Tomorrow the El Paso area is the hottest in the region again with l a high of 101 degrees, while Midland reaches 98 degrees. In San Antonio, expect a toasty 100 degrees. Dallas will see a high of 92, and Corpus Christi isn’t far behind at 90 degrees.
The Southern Plains is gearing up for an active weather day tomorrow. Expect rain ranging from Dallas to Corpus Christi, adding much-needed moisture to the region. Oklahoma City is in the line for stronger storms as an unstable air mass meets an approaching cold front.
