Northern sections, including areas near Kansas City, are seeing light rain showers moving eastward. Across Oklahoma City and Little Rock, conditions appear dry with some cloud cover lingering. Down to the south, El Paso and Midland are under clear skies, making for a sunny day across most of Texas. Areas around Dallas and San Antonio, as well as Corpus Christi, are also enjoying mostly clear conditions, possibly with some high clouds drifting by. New Orleans is starting to feel the effects of developing rain, as showers spread across the lower Mississippi Delta and head eastward. This marks the beginning of a storm system organizing in that area. The Rockies to the west are seeing snowfalls in elevated areas along the southern Colorado border.
Temperatures through the afternoon in Austin are warming up, reaching 88 degrees by 6 PM. Expect sunny skies throughout the day with a gentle east-northeast wind at 6 miles per hour, maintaining comfortable conditions. As the evening approaches, temperatures will gradually cool to 84 degrees by 8 PM, still under clear skies, perfect for any outdoor plans you might have.
In Texas, El Paso is heating up with a high of 93 degrees, while San Antonio is slightly cooler at 91. Over in Midland, temperatures reach a warm 88 degrees. Heading east, Dallas sees a comfortable high of 81, and just south, Corpus Christi enjoys a pleasant 84 degrees. Oklahoma City experiences a high of 77 degrees, which is a bit more mild compared to its Texas neighbors. Meanwhile, Little Rock nudges up to 72 degrees, feeling a noticeable coolness.
Oklahoma City will see a low of 52 degrees, while Tulsa dips to 48. Dallas is expected to cool down to 63, with a chiller night in Fort Worth at 58 degrees. Heading south, San Antonio will register a low of 61, and Corpus Christi is not far behind at 66. However, a notable drop can be felt in Little Rock, where temperatures will plummet to 46 degrees. Expect temperatures to reach close to freezing in areas farther north.
High temperatures for the Southern Plains tomorrow will see a significant uptick, with many areas experiencing above-average readings. El Paso will warm up to 94 degrees, while Midland is set to reach a sizzling 95 degrees. San Antonio can expect a fragrant 92 degrees, and Corpus Christi will enjoy a high of 83 degrees. In Oklahoma City, temperatures climb to a comfortable 84 degrees, while Dallas should see a high of 72 degrees. Kansas City is forecasted for 79 degrees, indicating that the warm air mass is pushing farther north. Overall, these warmer temperatures are influenced by a persistent ridge of high pressure across the region, setting the stage for a warm and sunny day.
Tomorrow in the Southern Plains, we anticipate a mix of weather conditions. Oklahoma City may experience unstable weather with a chance of stronger storms, driven by an approaching cold front. Be prepared for severe weather alerts coming your way. Meanwhile, areas from Dallas to Corpus Christi can expect beneficial rain showers, offering some relief to dry conditions. In Midland and farther west, conditions remain more stable with fewer weather disturbances.
