Across the Southern Plains, the weather over Oklahoma City is quiet with no precipitation expected. However, the showers over Mississippi can be seen moving northeast towards Little Rock, bringing some moisture along the way. Kansas City’s surroundings are experiencing light rain, which is expected to bring wet conditions to the area. Farther to the south in Texas, clear skies are prevailing with no significant weather disturbances. El Paso and Albuquerque remain dry, while sun breaks through in San Antonio. Meanwhile, New Orleans is basking in clear, dry skies for now.
For this evening in Austin, skies will remain clear with temperatures starting at 81 degrees at 9 PM, gradually cooling to 68 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will be light, shifting from east at 6 miles per hour at 9 PM to east-northeast at 4 miles per hour by 11 PM, and then returning to east at 3 miles per hour by 1 AM.
In Little Rock, expect a low of 52 degrees. Over in Dallas, temperatures will drop to 63. Moving south, San Antonio will see a low of 61 degrees, while Corpus Christi will remain warmer at 66. Further west, Midland is forecasted to be cooler with a low of 64. El Paso will settle at a mild 61 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southern Plains for tomorrow are showcasing some quite warm readings. In El Paso, expect a high of 94 degrees, which is well above average for this time of year. Over in Midland, temperatures soar to a sizzling 95 degrees, marking a notable trend of above-average warmth.
San Antonio will see a high around 92 degrees, providing a comfortable day for residents. Corpus Christi’s temperatures will also rise to 83 degrees, contributing to the warm conditions across the region. Dallas experiences a below-average high of 84 degrees, while Little Rock comes in at 72 degrees, feeling slightly cooler.
Friday’s weather for the Southern Plains brings dynamic shifts to the region. Starting in the morning, showers will be prominent from Dallas down to San Antonio, offering much-needed moisture. However, as we move up into Oklahoma City, expect stronger storms due to the unstable air mass coupled with a frontal boundary moving in from the west. By evening, thunderstorms could become more severe, so stay on high alert for any weather warnings. Little Rock and far eastern Texas may experience lesser storm impacts, but localized heavy rainfall is possible.
