Across the Southern Plains, the regional radar indicates a calm pattern for much of the area. However, snow is currently falling in the higher elevations, particularly along the southern border of Colorado. Expect gusty winds that could reach up to 75 miles per hour through the mountain passes, making travel challenging.
In the Oklahoma Panhandle, a few rain showers are drifting through, while farther southeast, rain is developing over the lower Mississippi Delta, hinting at a storm system forming in the area. Elsewhere, Albuquerque and El Paso enjoy clear skies, providing a respite from any precipitation for now. Meanwhile, Dallas and San Antonio remain dry, creating a pleasant day for outdoor activities.
In Austin, temperatures this afternoon will rise to a high of 89 degrees, with plenty of sunshine in the forecast. A steady southern breeze is expected, blowing at around 9 to 10 miles per hour throughout the afternoon.
In Texas, there’s significant warmth, with Midland reaching a sizzling 95 degrees, while El Paso isn’t far behind at 94 degrees. Moving eastward, San Antonio checks in with a high of 92, and Dallas enjoys a comfortable 84 degrees.
In Oklahoma, Oklahoma City is slightly cooler at 78 degrees, while on the northern edge, Little Rock in Arkansas hits 72, showing a noticeable temperature contrast with the more southern regions.
In the southeastern parts, Jackson and New Orleans both see highs of 72 and 75 respectively, reflecting a mild day in comparison to the hotter areas of Texas.
Oklahoma City will see a low of 61 degrees, while Dallas will dip down to 64.

High temperatures tomorrow in the Southern Plains are set to be notably warm, with many areas experiencing above-average readings. In El Paso, expect a high of 91 degrees, while Midland is looking at an impressive 99 degrees. San Antonio will see temperatures rise to 95 degrees, and Corpus Christi will warm up to 84 degrees.
Dallas will have a high of 88 degrees, and further north, Oklahoma City is forecasted to reach 90 degrees. Little Rock rounds out the region with a high of 88 degrees.
These warm temperatures can be attributed to a high-pressure system settling in over the region, leading to mostly clear skies and plenty of sunshine throughout the day.
A cold front is pushing through the Southern Plains, setting the stage for an active weather pattern. Expect rain showers from San Antonio to Corpus Christi tomorrow, while Oklahoma City and Dallas face the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms. This instability may lead to damaging winds and large hail, so stay advised on weather alerts. Farther south in Midland, drier air will prevail, bringing more mild conditions. By late day, this front moves into Arkansas and Louisiana, with scattered storms continuing into Wednesday. Monitor conditions closely as these storms could disrupt travel and outdoor plans.
