Across the Southern Plains, relatively dry and clear conditions prevail today. However, the radar shows some light rain along the Gulf Coast near Corpus Christi and moving towards New Orleans. Kansas City is experiencing clear skies, while Dallas and Oklahoma City remain dry with bright skies. The main areas of precipitation are located off the southeastern coast, gradually making their way onshore towards cities like New Orleans, which can expect showers as they move through. El Paso, Albuquerque, and San Antonio are all dry.
For this evening in Austin, temperatures will initially be around 91 degrees at 9 PM with mostly sunny skies and a southeast wind at 8 mph. As the night progresses, expect mostly cloudy conditions at 11 PM as temperatures drop to 85 degrees with light winds from the southeast at 5 mph. By 1 AM, showers are anticipated with temperatures cooling to 79 degrees and winds shifting to the south-southeast at 6 mph.
Tonight in the Southern Plains, Oklahoma City will see a low around 63 degrees, while Little Rock dips to 68. Dallas is forecasting a mild 74 degrees. San Antonio has a low of 77 degrees. Midland is projected at 76 degrees, indicative of a cooler air pattern settling in. Expect temperatures in New Orleans to bottom out at 75 degrees.
