High temperatures for the Southern Plains tomorrow will be significantly above average. El Paso is expected to reach 93 degrees, while Midland hits a sizzling 98. San Antonio looks to match that with a high also around 98, and Corpus Christi is forecasted to be quite warm at 91 degrees. Looking ahead for the Southern Plains, a wave of thunderstorms is expected from Midland through Oklahoma City, potentially impacting Saturday plans. This active weather pattern brings the risk of severe storms, particularly in central Oklahoma, with hail and strong winds being the main threats. Elsewhere, showers will offer a brief reprieve for areas from Dallas to Corpus Christi, aiding in recent dry conditions. Watch for quick storm development as the day progresses. The temperature trend remains warm, but a cold front could shift conditions into cooler territory by Sunday.
The UV index in Austin today and Sunday will be extreme at 11. A burn time of just 11 minutes in direct sunlight indicates very quick exposure risks.v
