A light rain shower is tracking through areas near Kansas City, while Oklahoma City remains dry and clear at the moment. Little Rock is experiencing sporadic showers, contributing to a slightly damp morning. In New Orleans, coastal showers are keeping the area wet with rain moving in from the Gulf. As clear skies dominate much of Texas, places like Dallas, El Paso, and Midland are enjoying a break from precipitation. In Albuquerque, skies are mostly clear, with no significant weather activity currently on the radar.
In Austin, temperatures this afternoon will peak at 81 degrees by 5 PM before sliding back to 79 degrees by 7 PM. You’ll notice a warm breeze from the south-southeast, with wind speeds around 12 to 14 miles per hour.

El Paso is enjoying a pleasant day at 82 degrees. Heading east, Dallas reaches a comfortable 80 degrees, while San Antonio checks in at 85. Up in Little Rock, temperatures are a bit cooler, landing at 75 degrees. Finally, we have Jackson at 80 degrees and New Orleans not far below at 79. Expect clear skies and plenty of sunshine across the region, making for a lovely afternoon!
Tonight in the Southern Plains, a chill is settling in as we prepare for some noticeably cooler temperatures. In Oklahoma City, expect a low of 47 degrees, while Dallas will see a drop to 61. Little Rock will be slightly warmer at 63. Further south, San Antonio is forecasted to cool off to 72, but there’s a sharper decline in the northern tier of the region. Midland will reach 54 degrees, and El Paso will be a bit cooler at 47.
High temperatures for tomorrow in the Southern Plains are shaping up to be quite warm. El Paso will see a comfortable high of 68 degrees, while Midland warms to 77 degrees. San Antonio is expected to enjoy a balmy 89 degrees, which is significantly above average for this time of year. Corpus Christi will also experience warm conditions with a high reaching 88 degrees. Dallas will be a bit cooler at 81 degrees, and Kansas City is forecasted for a mild 72 degrees. The warm air mass moving into the region is contributing to these above-average temperatures, setting the stage for a beautiful day across the Southern Plains.
