A swath of rain showers is making its way over the Pacific, affecting the Northern California coastline around Redding. As this system moves inland, we anticipate precipitation to reach areas farther east, including the Sierra Nevada, where higher elevations could receive snowfall. Reno is staying dry for now.
Salt Lake City and Ely maintain clear skies. Cedar City is also enjoying dry conditions at present. Flagstaff, Arizona, experiences cloud cover and a possibility for snow flurries, adding a chill to the otherwise calm weather in the region.
In Southern California, Los Angeles is experiencing mild conditions. San Diego maintains clear skies as well, while Bakersfield and Fresno remain dry under partly cloudy conditions. Las Vegas is enjoying a sunny day with no precipitation expected.
For this evening in Phoenix, anticipate mostly clear skies. Temperatures will begin at 81 degrees at 9 PM, descending to 72 degrees by 1 AM. Winds start from the west-southwest at 8 miles per hour, decreasing slightly to the southwest at 6 miles per hour as the night progresses.
In the Southwest tonight, Ely will experience a brisk low of 37 degrees. Over in Flagstaff, expect a chilly 34 degrees, making it one of the cooler spots in the region. Cedar City will dip to 45 degrees, while Las Vegas stays relatively warmer with a low of 61. Los Angeles can expect a mild night at 50 degrees, and a similar 52 in San Diego. Farther west, San Francisco will cool down to 50 degrees.
Tomorrow in the Southwest, high temperatures will see some intriguing trends as we transition into warmer spring weather.
Heading north, Flagstaff will experience a milder high of 64 degrees, still enjoying the seasonal warmth.
Moving to Nevada, Las Vegas will heat up to a balmy 86 degrees, making it an ideal day to enjoy outdoor activities, while Ely will remain cooler at 68 degrees, slightly below average for early April.
In California, Bakersfield will see a high of 82 degrees, with Fresno following closely at 79 degrees, both reflecting a pleasant upward trend. Los Angeles will enjoy a comfortable 72 degrees.
A frontal system moving into the Southwest tomorrow will bring notable weather changes. Expect cloudy skies over Arizona and New Mexico with the potential for scattered rain showers, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours. As the front advances into Nevada and Utah, anticipate increasing rain chances, with heavier precipitation near the higher terrain. Temperatures will drop slightly following the front, leading to more mild conditions for Wednesday. Stay alert as isolated thunderstorms could develop, especially in the afternoon, presenting a risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas.
