On the Regional Radar for the Southwest, rain showers are moving into Northern California, especially around Redding and Reno. These showers provide some hydration to the inland areas moving across the region. Farther south, San Francisco and Fresno are staying dry for now, but cloud cover is increasing, hinting at potential upcoming rain. Ely, Nevada, and the surrounding deserts are clear, maintaining dry conditions all the way to Las Vegas. Snow is lightly dusting the Sierra Nevada range, contributing to the season’s accumulation. Meanwhile, a mix of rain and snow is observed near Cedar City, hinting at slick conditions. Flagstaff, Arizona, maintains a chilly atmosphere with potential light flurries, but no precipitation is noted at the moment. Phoenix remains under mainly clear skies, enjoying warm weather, free from the rain affecting the northern parts of the region.
This evening in Los Angeles, temperatures will begin at 73 degrees around 8 PM, gradually cooling to 63 degrees by midnight. Expect partly cloudy skies transitioning to mostly clear conditions as the night progresses. Winds will decrease from a light 6 mph breeze out of the south at 8 PM to calm by midnight.
Ely will see a brisk low of 34 degrees, while Reno cools down to 39. In Las Vegas, expect a low of 63, slightly warmer compared to other areas, but still feeling the chill in the early morning hours. Flagstaff will reach 41 degrees, and Cedar City is also forecasted for a low of 41. The coastal cities are not immune either; San Francisco is expected to dip to 48 degrees. Bakersfield will experience a low of 54, and Los Angeles is forecasted for 50 degrees.
High temperatures across the Southwest tomorrow are shaping up to be warm, if not, hot! In Phoenix, prepare for a sizzling high of 100 degrees, which is well above average for this time of year. Las Vegas is also heating up, expected to reach 91 degrees, putting it several degrees over the seasonal norms. Los Angeles will enjoy a pleasant day with a high of 72 degrees, while San Diego mirrors that with the same high. Bakersfield is set to warm up to 82 degrees, and Fresno will see temperatures rise to 81 degrees. Heading north, Ely can expect highs around 72 degrees, with Cedar City not far behind at 75 degrees. San Francisco will be cooler, hitting only 64, which is on the lower end of the temperature spectrum for the region.
A calm and mostly sunny day is expected across much of the Southwest tomorrow. Northern California will see a shift as a storm system brings in several rounds of valley rain. This system will move into southern California, affecting areas like the San Bernardino Valley with more showers and potentially heavy rainfall, especially in higher elevations. Be cautious of slick roads and reduced visibility in mountain passes. As the weather clears farther south toward Arizona and New Mexico, anticipate pleasant conditions with clear skies.
