From stormy California coasts to sunny days in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, each area holds a unique forecast. As temperatures fluctuate and storms move inland, stay equipped with all the necessary information and safety tips shared in our extensive weather guide.
Stormy conditions are evident along the California coast, with rain showers moving inland through San Francisco and further towards Fresno. Snow is impacting higher elevations near Ely, while Flagstaff is witnessing some light snow showers. Los Angeles and San Diego remain relatively dry, but overcast conditions may persist. Cedar City is experiencing clear skies, providing a break from precipitation. As the storm system proceeds inland, those in the Reno area should be prepared for potential rain showers.
This evening in Salt Lake City, enjoy clear and sunny skies, with temperatures starting at 64 degrees at 9 PM. By 11 PM, conditions will be mostly clear with temperatures dropping to 59 degrees and a gentle east-southeast breeze at 6 miles per hour. Expect partly cloudy skies past midnight as temperatures fall to 55 degrees, with winds slightly increasing to 7 miles per hour.
Tonight in the Southwest, expect some notably chilly conditions. Ely will plunge to 28 degrees, while Flagstaff isn’t far behind at 34 degrees. Las Vegas will stay relatively mild at 61, but temperatures in Cedar City will drop to 41. San Francisco will see a low of 50, and further south, Los Angeles and San Diego are both forecasted for 54 degrees. The pattern indicates a brisk night ahead across the region.
High temperatures in the Southwest for tomorrow are trending above average as warmer weather continues to settle in. Phoenix will blaze through the day with a scorching high of 91 degrees. Las Vegas isn’t far behind, with expected highs around 86 degrees. Meanwhile, Los Angeles will enjoy a mild 70 degrees, and Bakersfield heats up to a notable 88 degrees. Overall, this warm pattern is being influenced by a ridge of high pressure dominating the region, bringing clear skies and rising temperatures.
A low-pressure system will bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to the Southwest tomorrow. The heaviest rains are expected in the early hours, primarily affecting the Arizona-New Mexico border. Gusty winds may accompany these storms, so be prepared for potential disruptions to travel and outdoor plans. Temperatures across the region will see a slight dip, particularly in southern areas. Conditions will improve by late Wednesday, with clearing skies moving in from west to east.
In Salt Lake City, expect a high UV index of 7 both today and tomorrow, meaning sunburn can occur in about 20 minutes of direct exposure. Be proactive about wearing sunscreen and seeking shade during peak sunlight hours. Take care to cover up with hats and sunglasses if you’re enjoying outdoor activities, even amidst the occasional cloud cover.
Sunday: We’re expecting partly cloudy skies with a comfortable high of 66 degrees and a chilly low of 47. Monday: Clear skies will dominate the day, peaking at 63 degrees and dipping to 42 at night. Tuesday: Partly cloudy conditions with a warmer high of 69 degrees and a cool low of 48. Wednesday: Similar weather continues with partly cloudy skies, a high of 67, and a low of 47. Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a slight uptick in temperatures, reaching 69 degrees in the afternoon, then down to 51 by night. Friday: Warmer and still under mostly cloudy skies with a high of 72 degrees and a low of 48. Saturday: Partly cloudy conditions again as temperatures slide to 60 degrees for the high and a low of 42. Hope that helps with your weather planning! Stay safe!
