In the Southwest, the regional radar shows some action, especially over northern California and Nevada. Redding is experiencing substantial rain moving inland from the Pacific, likely offering some relief to the dry conditions there. This rain extends a bit farther south, affecting regions north of San Francisco as well.
In Nevada, light showers are observed near Reno. Meanwhile, areas like Salt Lake City and Cedar City show clear skies, allowing for a cloudy but pleasant end to the day. Las Vegas remains dry, enjoying a warm evening without any precipitation.
Farther south in Arizona, Flagstaff might see some light snow flurries tonight as colder air moves in from the north. Meanwhile, major cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, and Phoenix remain under tranquil skies with no significant weather disturbances expected.
In Salt Lake City this afternoon, temperatures start at 74 degrees at 3 PM, dropping slightly to 73 degrees by 5 PM and reaching 72 degrees at 7 PM. Expect partly cloudy skies early in the afternoon, transitioning to cloudy conditions later. Winds will be from the south at 16 miles per hour at 3 PM, easing to 15 miles per hour by 5 PM, and shifting to the south-southwest at 13 miles per hour by 7 PM.
Let’s take a look at today’s high temperatures across the Southwest region. In Las Vegas, it’s a warm one with a high of 87 degrees. Over in Cedar City, temperatures reach up to 70 degrees, offering a pleasant afternoon. Meanwhile, Flagstaff sees a high of 68 degrees, keeping things cool in the mountainous areas. Down in Phoenix, you can expect a real heat surge with a high of 92 degrees, making it one of the hottest spots in the region today.
Tonight in the Southwest Flagstaff will drop to a low of 30. In Cedar City, temperatures will dip to around 34 degrees. Las Vegas will be noticeably warmer with a low of 51, but just over to the west, Bakersfield, California will rest a bit cooler at 49. Los Angeles is looking at a mild overnight temperature of 48 degrees. Farther south, San Diego will be the warmest in the region at 53 degrees.
High temperatures for the Southwest on March 28th are showcasing a significant warm-up across the region. In Phoenix, expect a high of 84 degrees, which is notably above average for this time of year. Las Vegas will see a high of 75 degrees, also above the seasonal norm.
Moving to Southern California, Bakersfield reaches 75 degrees as well, while Fresno warms up to 70 degrees. Los Angeles is looking at a comfortable high of 63 degrees and San Diego will hit 62 degrees, both slightly below average.
Farther north, San Francisco is on the cooler side at 59 degrees. Ely will experience highs of 55 degrees, along with Cedar City sharing similar temperatures.
