Today’s weather brings a mix of conditions – Phoenix enjoys balmy highs while nearby Nevada experiences light snow showers. Moving further into California, rain showers replenish the parched soils, providing a much-needed reprieve. In California, rain is moving inland from the Pacific Ocean, providing much-needed moisture to Redding and its surrounding areas. This storm system is delivering showers into the Central Valley, including Fresno and Bakersfield, while bringing snow to the higher elevations, particularly around Reno and areas farther east. In the Eastern Mountains of Nevada, snow showers continue to fall. Farther south, Las Vegas remains dry under clear skies. Moving into Utah, Cedar City is seeing a mix of rain and snow, creating varied conditions. Salt Lake City is under cloud cover with potential snow expected. Flagstaff, Arizona, is experiencing a chilly day with the possibility of light snow showers. Phoenix is enjoying dry conditions, under mostly clear skies. San Francisco and Los Angeles are seeing relatively mild weather, with nothing more than light drizzle expected. San Diego looks lovely with sunsunshine and mid 60s.
In Phoenix this afternoon, temperatures will climb to 82 degrees by 3 PM, peaking at 84 degrees by 5 PM and staying at 84 degrees at 7 PM. Expect sunny skies with a gentle breeze transitioning from the south-southwest at 4 miles per hour to the west-southwest at 6 miles per hour, and finally coming from the west at 7 miles per hour. The top temperature turns out to be 86 in Phoenix. The higher elevations of Phoenix warm up to just 60 degrees, creating a noticeable difference from the warmer valleys. In California, Los Angeles is enjoying a warm day with a high of 70 degrees. Bakersfield is just a bit warmer at 71, while Fresno sits at 69 degrees. Farther to the south, San Diego has a pleasant afternoon with a high of 71. Moving into Nevada, Las Vegas is significantly warmer, reaching 77 degrees. However, the east side is much cooler 50 degrees, presenting quite a contrast in temperatures across the state.
Lows across the Southwest are chilly. East Nevada is coldest right at the freezing point, while Flagstaff follows closely with a low of 34. In Las Vegas, expect a relatively warmer night at 58 degrees, but Cedar City drops down to 36. Los Angeles will remain mild at 52 degrees, and San Diego is looking at a low of 54. Farther to the north, Redding will be cooler at 55, and in the San Francisco area, watch for a low of 49. Prepare for a noticeable chill in the air as you head out tomorrow morning!
High temperatures for the Southwest tomorrow will be quite warm as spring settles in. In Las Vegas, expect a hot afternoon high of 82 degrees, well above the seasonal average. Phoenix is set to soar up to 87 degrees, continuing the trend of warmer weather. Over in Los Angeles, temperatures will reach a pleasant 73 degrees, while San Diego stays comfortable at 69 degrees. Farther north in San Francisco, the temperature will be milder at 65 degrees, and Fresno will see highs around 73 degrees. Overall, a ridge of high pressure is contributing to these warmer-than-average temperatures across the region.
