Over the Southwest region, the radar shows a mix of weather conditions today. In Northern California, Redding is experiencing rain showers.
Cloudy skies dominate around San Francisco and further south toward Fresno, with rain moving into Bakersfield. Los Angeles remains relatively mild with little precipitation, while San Diego enjoys clearer skies with no immediate rain threats.
As we look eastward, Las Vegas stays dry under partly cloudy conditions, and in Flagstaff, snow is anticipated, potentially affecting travel with colder air in place. Jumping over to Salt Lake City and Cedar City, cloud cover is prevalent, with no significant precipitation currently registered on the radar.
In Salt Lake City, tomorrow morning kicks off with clear skies and a brisk 45 degrees at 7 AM, accompanied by a gentle east-southeast wind at 6 miles per hour. As the morning progresses, sunshine takes over, maintaining the 45 degrees at 9 AM with an east-southeast breeze still at 6 miles per hour. By 11 AM, temperatures rise to 53 degrees with sunny skies, while the wind eases slightly to 4 miles per hour from the east-southeast.
Here’s the regional high temperature rundown for the Southwest Tuesday:
Phoenix is set to sizzle with a high of 99 degrees, well above average for this time of year. Las Vegas will also experience warmth, hitting 90 degrees.
In Southern California, Los Angeles will see a comfortable 76 degrees, while San Diego will remain mild at 72 degrees.
Farther north, Fresno reaches a warm 88 degrees, and Bakersfield is expected to hit a scorching 91 degrees.
Overall, the region is experiencing warmer-than-normal temperatures influenced by a high-pressure system settling in, bringing clear skies and plenty of sunshine.
“Looking at the forecast for the Southwest, expect relatively dry conditions to persist. However, coastal areas of Southern California should prepare for intermittent showers, starting Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. This could lead to slick roads and reduced visibility. Temperatures remain mild across the region, while high-pressure systems continue to dominate, keeping the majority of the Southwest under sunny skies. Keep an eye out for any sudden weather advisories as conditions change along the coast.”
Salt Lake City will experience a moderate UV index of 5 today, which means you could start to burn in about 27 minutes if you’re out and about in direct sunlight. Clouds and potential showers might offer some relief. By Tuesday, the UV index remains steady at 5, with similar sun exposure risks and a burn time of about 27 minutes.
