Rain showers are sweeping through Nevada and extending into southern Utah, with Ely and Cedar City experiencing precipitation. Bright radar returns suggest substantial rain near Flagstaff. Meanwhile, the California coastline, including San Francisco and San Diego, is benefiting from a clear and dry evening. Winds in Las Vegas remain moderate as the region stays mostly rain-free.
For this evening in Los Angeles, temperatures will start at 72 degrees at 9 PM, dropping to a cooler 63 degrees by 1 AM. Expect clear skies with plenty of sunshine initially, transitioning to partly cloudy as the night progresses. Winds will be light, coming from the south-southwest at around 7 miles per hour, calming to a gentle 4 miles per hour by midnight.
Tonight, low temperatures in the Southwest will feature notable drops, with Las Vegas reaching a chilly 48 degrees. Flagstaff is expected to cool down to 51 degrees, while San Diego will settle at a mild 63. In contrast, Phoenix will remain much warmer, with a low of 78 degrees.
Tomorrow in the Southwest, Phoenix is expected to soar to a blistering 104 degrees, marking above-average temperatures for the area. Fresno will enjoy a warm day with highs around 94 degrees.
A weather shift is on the horizon for the Southwest, bringing scattered showers primarily to the inland areas of Southern California through Thursday. Expect some isolated thunderstorms, especially across the higher terrain where brief heavy downpours may occur. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain relatively warm, reaching the low to mid-80s in the desert areas. A weak frontal boundary will meander through the region, enhancing instability and leading to increased cloudiness. Though not widespread, localized flooding in poor drainage areas is a concern where heavier rain occurs.
