Today across the Southwest, the regional radar is showing a mix of weather patterns. A band of precipitation is making its presence felt across the intermountain west wher light snow showers are currently occurring in the higher elevations. The valleys get cold rain.
Meanwhile, Reno and Redding in Northern California are experiencing clear skies. The central valleys of California, including areas like Fresno, maintain dry conditions, while the Southern California coast from Los Angeles to San Diego remains breezy and mild.
Flagstaff and Phoenix in Arizona also enjoy dry conditions, with temperatures allowing for mild weather. Las Vegas stands out today with dry conditions.
“Tomorrow morning in Salt Lake City, temperatures start at 38 degrees at 7 AM, warming up to 44 degrees by 11 AM. Southeast winds will range from 5 to 6 miles per hour. Expect partly cloudy skies to transition to mostly cloudy conditions as the morning progresses.”
High temperatures for the Southwest region tomorrow are expected to follow some warming trends. Las Vegas will also see temperatures reach a balmy 78 degrees, indicating a pleasant day ahead.
To the west in Los Angeles, expect a high of 62 degrees, which is a bit cooler than usual, while San Diego will be slightly warmer at 65 degrees. Up north in Fresno, temperatures will warm up to 67 degrees, and Bakersfield is set for a high of 72 degrees.
“On the Southwest futurecast, watch for a developing weather system impacting California. A series of systems bring rain across Northern California, transitioning southward with showers reaching the San Bernardino Valley early Saturday. Be prepared for slick road conditions and plan for disruptions. Higher elevations could experience snowfall, bringing challenges to mountain travel. Farther east, expect clearer skies for the desert regions, but keep an eye on changing conditions as systems move through over the weekend.”
Salt Lake City will experience a moderate UV index of 4 on Saturday, with a burn time of approximately 35 minutes, though cloud cover and rain will mitigate exposure. On Sunday, the UV index will drop to 2.
