The radar shows a mix of weather conditions across the Southwest region. In Northern California, Redding sees rain showers moving in from the Pacific, providing some relief to the drought-struck areas. The Sierra Nevada mountains near Reno are experiencing snow, with accumulations mainly on the higher elevations. Around Salt Lake City and Ely, a wintry mix of rain and snow is present as the system dives southward. The weather remains dry and clear for Phoenix and Las Vegas.
Temperatures in Los Angeles this afternoon reach up to 59 degrees. Expect mostly cloudy skies transitioning to fully cloudy by 8 PM. Winds will be coming from the southwest at 9 to 10 miles per hour.
Today’s regional high temperatures in the Southwest show some interesting contrasts. Phoenix is heating up with a high of 81 degrees, making it the warmest city in the region. Las Vegas will see a high of 77, while Bakersfield is slightly cooler at 68 degrees. Meanwhile, San Diego is experiencing a mild day with a high of 64 degrees. Flagstaff remains on the cooler side, reaching just 55 degrees.
Tonight in the Southwest, a significant drop in temperatures is expected. Las Vegas will see a low of 52 degrees, while Flagstaff plunges to a chilly 19. Ely is forecasting an even colder 18 degrees, making it one of the coldest spots in the region. Cedar City will register at 25 degrees, and Phoenix remains milder at 57 degrees. Coastal cities like San Diego and Los Angeles will experience lows of 50 and 48, respectively, providing a balmy contrast to the colder inland areas.
High temperatures across the Southwest region tomorrow will be comfortably warm and generally above average for this time of year. In Las Vegas, expect a high of 70 degrees, while Phoenix will see a pleasant 75 degrees. Bakersfield will warm up to 73 degrees, and Fresno is set to reach a high of 75 as well. Coastal areas like San Diego and Los Angeles will be slightly cooler, with highs of 63 and 57 degrees, respectively.
A cold front sweeping through the Southwest tomorrow will bring noticeable weather changes. Expect a mix of rain and mountain snow across the Four Corners with cooler temperatures. By early afternoon, isolated thunderstorms may develop, posing risks for heavy rainfall and gusty winds from Arizona to New Mexico.
