Expect varying temperatures soaring up in Phoenix while cooling down in Flagstaff. A weather shift brings rain and potential thunderstorms, so stay tuned and prepared. Snow is falling in the mountains around Cedar City and Ely, dusting the higher terrains with a fresh layer. Flurries are noted near Cedar City, signaling a chilly day ahead. Las Vegas and Phoenix remain clear with no weather disturbances. San Francisco, Fresno, and San Diego enjoy a break from precipitation, as clear skies prevail.
Salt Lake City will see afternoon temperatures around 69 degrees at 3 PM, rising slightly to 70 degrees by 5 PM. Winds transition from south-southwest at 8 miles per hour to west-northwest at 7 miles per hour by 5 PM, and finally northwesterly at 9 miles per hour by 7 PM.
Today, the Southwest is experiencing some warm temperatures. In Phoenix, we’re seeing a high of 91 degrees, while Las Vegas is right behind it at 87. On the other hand, temperatures in San Diego are milder, peaking at 65. Flagstaff is feeling cooler as well with a high of 65 degrees, showing notable contrasts in the region. Fresno will also enjoy a pleasant 81 degrees today.
Tonight in the Southwest, temperatures are set to drop significantly, with Flagstaff hitting a chilly 35 degrees. Ely will see a low of just 36, indicating a notable cold snap. Las Vegas remains milder at 62 degrees, while Phoenix will rest comfortably at 65. In Southern California, Los Angeles is forecasted to drop to 52, with San Diego cooling down to a mild 53.
Tomorrow’s high temperatures in the Southwest are expected to be well above average. Phoenix will soar to a sizzling 91 degrees, while Las Vegas will also see a warm 87 degrees. In California, Bakersfield will reach 80 degrees, and Fresno will enjoy a high of 76 degrees. Coastal cities like San Diego will stay milder at 66 degrees.
A shift in weather patterns is expected in the Southwest with a cold front moving through. For tomorrow, anticipate isolated rain showers progressing from northern to central California, impacting areas like Sacramento and Fresno by evening. Watch for scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon across parts of Nevada and Arizona, particularly around Reno and Flagstaff, as the front pushes eastward. Temperatures will drop by 5 to 10 degrees following the rain, leading to cooler and drier conditions into late Thursday. Urban areas could face slick roads during peak rain hours, so plan accordingly.
The UV index in Salt Lake City for today, Wednesday, will be low at 3, with cloud cover reducing sun exposure. On Thursday, the index rises to a high of 7. Expect a burn time of about 20 minutes.
