Across the Southwest, the regional radar reveals an intriguing mix of weather conditions. Starting in Northern California, rain showers are impacting areas around Redding, providing some relief to the typically dry conditions. Farther south, light precipitation could extends into central regions, including Fresno and Bakersfield. In the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada, snow is present, complementing the rain below and promising increased water resources from melting snow. Meanwhile, the coastal areas around San Francisco are experiencing lighter showers. Las Vegas, in contrast, remains dry, continuing its stretch of clear conditions. To the east, in Arizona, Flagstaff could see a few flurries as a chill remains in the area. Meanwhile, Expect warm temperatures to continue for the desert locations bringing a taste of summer to parts of the Southwest today!
For this evening in Phoenix, expect partly cloudy skies at 8 PM with a temperature of 90 degrees, accompanied by west winds at 8 mph. By 10 PM, the skies will clear to mostly clear as temperatures ease to 86 degrees with winds shifting to the west at 6 mph. At midnight, temperatures continue their descent to 81 degrees under mostly clear skies and light west winds at 4 mph.
Now for the low temperatures. The Southwest will experience a chilly night ahead, especially in the mountainous areas. Flagstaff, Arizona, will also feel the chill with a low of 39 degrees. Las Vegas stays relatively warmer at 62 degrees, but still cooler than recent nights. In Southern California, Los Angeles will see a low of 53, while San Diego will be slightly warmer at 55 degrees. Expect a crisp start in Phoenix tomorrow morning at 64 degrees.
High temperatures for the Southwest region tomorrow will be significantly above average. In Phoenix, expect a sizzling high of 92 degrees, fueled by a persistent ridge of high pressure. Las Vegas will follow closely behind with a warm 85 degrees, maintaining its trend of hot and dry weather. Cedar City will reach 71 degrees. Moving toward California, Bakersfield is projected to climb to 78 degrees, and Fresno could warm up to 76 degrees. San Diego rounds out the forecast with a high of 66 degrees, offering a slightly milder day along the coast.
“Tomorrow in the Southwest, for the desert, anticipate clear skies dominating the desert areas, with plenty of sunshine and comfortably warm temperatures. For California there`s a big shift in the weather today as the record breaking heat is over and much cooler temperatures return. Several rounds of rain are in the forecast over the next 7 days as we enter a more disturbed pattern. Over coastal regions, Northern California faces repeated rounds of drizzle and valley rain. Southern California, mostly dry and occasionally breezy conditions are expected through the rest of the week.”
The UV index in Phoenix will be moderate on Wednesday with a value of 5, indicating a burn time of about 27 minutes in direct sunlight. On Thursday, the UV index rises to 8, with a quicker burn time of just 17 minutes!
For the Phoenix 7 Day Outlook: Wednesday: It’s a warm day with partly cloudy skies, expecting a high of 93 degrees and a low around 65. Thursday: Mostly clear with temperatures reaching up to 92 degrees during the day, cooling to 65 at night. Friday: Prepare for partly cloudy conditions with a high of 86 degrees and a low of 61. Saturday: The trend continues with partly cloudy weather, hitting a daytime high of 83 degrees and a nighttime low of 59. Sunday: Expect partly cloudy skies again, with highs reaching 84 degrees and lows at 61. Monday: Partly cloudy with temperatures edging up slightly to a high of 86 degrees, dipping to 63 overnight.
